EMERGENCY CARE AND TREATMENT

If a child requires immediate medical attention, the child's physician and parent will be called.   The child will be transported by the Director or a qualified staff member to North Hawaii Community Hospital in Waimea by car (or ambulance, if necessary).   That person will stay with the child until a parent arrives at the hospital.   If the child's doctor cannot be reached, the emergency room doctor will examine the child (permission will have been signed by the parent or guardian on the registration form in the files).
