SCHOOL LOCATIONS Seagull began its first school in 1971 in the Christ Church in Kailua. It is located on the Pali Highway near Castle Hospital at 1300 Kailua Road. The school currently enrolls 38 children aged 3-5 years. The schools' central administrative office is located in the same building. THE EARLY EDUCATION CENTER in downtown Honolulu The Early Education Center was constructed on the grounds of Honolulu's Civic Center in 1986 by the City and County of Honolulu and is licensed for 264 children aged 18 months to 5 years. Located near the state capital, it is the state's largest childcare center and has been operated by Seagull Schools since it was opened. MAUNA LANI on the Island of Hawaii The school was constructed on grounds of the Mauna Lani Resort in 1990 and is licensed to provide care for 132 children aged 2 to 12 years. The program also includes care for school aged children during elementary school vacations. In 1995, Seagull Schools first opened its school located in the heart of Kapolei. It is licensed for 240 children aged 2-5 years. The Kapolei school is also licensed to provide services for 50 frail older adults or persons with disabilities. The mix of children and seniors has received local, national and international attention for being a model intergenerational program that significantly benefits both age groups equally well. OCEAN POINTE IN EWA BEACH In 2006, Seagull Schools began operation of a new pre-plus classroom for 30 children aged 3 and 4 years at Kapolei Elementary School on June 1. Enrollment requires that those children be eligible to attend Kapolei Elementary School. |
